What Type of Container are You?
•
Today I decided to do some baking. The mix had been sitting in the cupboard for too long. I wasn’t sure if the bread pan would hold all the mixture, so I took out a muffin pan as well.
As I poured the mixture in, I realized there was no need for the muffin pan so I put it away.
As I did so, I had a revelation. I had prepared one mixture, but I had two different containers, so the outcome would be dependent on the container I poured it in. If I poured it into the bread container I would have bread. If I poured it in the muffin container, I would end up with muffins. Same mixture, different container, different product or outcome.
It then dawned on me that in the same way, two persons can have the same experience and their reactions can be totally opposite to one another. Because of our circumstances, personlity, makeup and perspective, one person sees a situation as a blessing, while another sees it as a curse, one sees ot as positive, while another sees it as negative. What seems as a setback to one person may be a stepping stone to someone else.
So what kind of container are you? What is the outcome when your life experiences are poured into you? Do you rejoice or do you complain? Do you see the glass as half empty or do you see it as half full? Think on these things. Shalom!
