Happy Good Friday – Crucifixion Day
•

This morning, I had fond memories of myself as a little girl growing up in rural St. Elizabeth. Easter was one of my favourite times of the year as I always looked forward to attending the Easter Convention at Emmaus Gospel Chapel in Balaclava. As the time drew near, I would excitedly ask my mother “are we going to Good Friday?” As a child I failed to make the distinction between the physical church and what actually took place on Crucifixion Day, more than 2,000 years ago. For me, they were one and the same.
Now that I am older, and wiser, I understand the significance of the Season. God, in the greatest act of love ever, sent His only Son to die on the cross for our sins. He, the innocent one, took our place, even though we were guilty and fully deserving of punishment,
What a love! There is no greater love than this. Reflect on this song as you celebrate God’s precious, overwhelming, never-ending gift of love to us and bask in HIs presence.
Happy Crucifixion Day! Happy Good Friday!
