A few months ago, I remembered that I had not taken my car for a battery check since I made the purchase in February 2022. When I bought the battery, I was told that to ensure proper maintenance, I was to return in three months to have it checked. Life happens, and so I totally forgot to do so. So sometime in September, I took the car in. The technician examined the battery and asked what issue I had. I responded in the negative as I was having none whatsoever.

He then advised that I should have the battery changed immediately as there was a defective cell which could negatively affect the performance of the battery. I thanked him for the information and advised him that I would do so at the end of the month when I got paid. So convinced was he that I would run into problems, that he offered to provide mobile service whenever I needed it. The end of the month came and there was still no issue with the battery, so I decided that I would not purchase a new battery until it was evident that the current one needed to be replaced.

In addition, he advised that the battery was slated to last 18 to 24 months and would give way any day now, seeing that I had passed the 24-month mark.

Well, that’s what he thought, not what my God says! It has now been 33 months (November 2024) and there is still no problem with the battery. It is as strong as ever. My car starts with ease, and there is no struggle at all.

I am happy that I stuck with my decision. Purchasing a new battery at the end of September would have been a waste of money as there was no need to do so. Until then, my heart will go on singing…lol
