Testimony – God’s Favour as I Study

God has shown up for me yet again!

I am currently pursuing a course in Paralegal Studies for work purposes. I should have started in 2023, but due to health reasons, I deferred it to a later date. Last year, 2024, I decided to strike while the iron was hot, as I was feeling much better. I submitted my application and was accepted for the course, which was scheduled to commence on October 29, and run for 10 months, covering 8 courses, with a completion date of July 2025.

On one hand, I was looking forward to the course, but on the other, I was a bit apprehensive. My memory is not what it used to be and so it had become difficult to remember things. I would sometimes walk into a room and forget why I was there. It was sometimes difficult to find the right words during a conversation, and I had prolonged periods of brain fog and poor concentration. So naturally, I was now wondering if I would be able to retain what I studied and apply it in my exams.

The course was conducted on a modular basis, and so the content that is normally taught over a semester in the university system, was compressed and taught in a month. As such, there was one 3-hour class each week for four weeks, then in the fifth week, there would be a 3 hour examination. This was a new system to me and it would certainly take some getting used to, but I knew in my mind that I had to make the necessary adjustments to succeed in this course. I had to be on the ball from week 1, because before you knew it, it would be week 5 – exam!

I committed my situation to the Lord, outlining my concern,s and asked Him to give me the strength and wisdom to do my best and to successfully balance my time with all the other things that I have to do.

Glory to God, I am now at the midway point in the course. With 4 months to go, and 4 courses completed, I can say that I have passed all 4 courses so far with good grades, with the latest grade (A) received yesterday. My memory is improving and this has been a significant blessing.

God continues to be faithful and I give hIm praise. I know with His help, I will be successful in the rest as I continue to fulfil my end of the bargain.

I also want to take this opportunity to encourage someone today. Don’t be afraid to step out and do what you desire. Don’t allow fear or your preceived shortcomings to prevent you. Commit your plans to God, do your part and He will take care of the rest. Trust Him!
