Testimony Tuesday – Unexpected Blessings

The Bible says that in everything we must give thanks, because it is God’s will concerning us. For today’s Testimony Tuesday feature, I will share with you how God showed up for me in an unexpected way.

Two weeks ago, I was out for my morning walk with my friends as per usual. As we finished the walk, we were approached by another walking partner, who I had not seen in a while. We greeted each other and engaged in conversation, after which she invited us to her home which was across the road.

She informed us that she had some goodies for us. I wondered what that could be and enquired. My other friends informed me that an invitation had been issued a few days before, but I was not present. As such, this came as a total surprise for me.

On arrival at the house, we were invited to have a seat, and then our gracious friend brought out bags of grocery items for us. I was shocked, to say the least. We graciously accepted the gifts, and then I proceeded to share with them my testimony of the Lord providing new shoes for me the week before.

As I shared, she had a lightbulb moment. Her memory was jogged, and she remembered that she too had a pair of shoes that she wanted to give away. She brought it out and lo and behold, it was a perfect fit for one of my friends. So that day, she received a double portion. Hallelujah!

From my gift, I was able to share with a family member and he was very grateful. It was, indeed, a gift that kept on giving.

This may seem like a simple testimony, but it is still worth sharing. God comes through for us in big ways and small ways and so we must always have an attitude of gratitude. When we begin to count our blessings one by one, we will realize how good God has been to us.

Let’s give thanks always. In fact, thanksgiving should become as natural as breathing. It should become a habit and a lifestyle. Let us commit in 2025, to refrain from grumbling and complaining and see the miracles that God works in our lives. When He blesses us, we must also remember to be a blessing to someone else.
