Treatment of Sleep Apnea

In today’s Wellness Wednesdays feature, I will continue to look at the issue of sleep apnea, specifically, at the types of treatment that are available.

The standard treatment is the use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, commonly known as CPAP. Trust me, this one is a hard nut to crack and is not easily tolerated by most persons with sleep apnea. Learn more by clicking the link below.

Another available option is Inspire which has recently come to market. See link below.

Other treatments include positional therapy and the use of oral devices. Click links for articles.

This list is not an exhaustive one, however, these are the treatments that are most widely used.

Again, if you notice that you are constantly tired in the days, no matter how much you sleep at night, if you snore, or struggle to concentrate , have poor memory or morning headaches, it’s time to do a sleep test. Your body is speaking loudly. Do yourself a favour and listen. Delay is danger. Give yourself the gift of good health and a better quality of life. You will be glad you did. Health is wealth. Take it from the horse’s mouth…lol

Shalom.
