Motivation Monday- Right Place, Right Time
•
Recently I attended a funeral where a group of teenagers from a church ministered in song. They did extremely well and the applause of those in attendance was thunderous. One of the attendees, who resides in the United States, was so impressed that on the spot he offered the group an all expenses paid trip to perform at an event at the White House later this year. Obviously, he was well connected as the offer was made publicly.
On a different note, a few weeks ago, I had an issue to take care of at a particular location. On my way, I stopped at a pharmacy close by to purchase an item. As I stood in the line, I observed a young lady sitting in the waiting area. I was seeing her for the first time, but something about her stood out. I just had a knowing in my spirit that she was not from the area. After a while, I looked across again and she was gone. So, I thought.
I made my purchase and headed to the front door. As soon as I walked through, I heard some behind me say “Excuse me, could you assist me? I looked around it was her. She needed to know where she could get a taxi that would take her to New Kingston. I gave her directions but then I told her that I was going to the plaza further up the road so she could get a lift from me and then take a taxi from there.
She quickly agreed and we set off. We struck up a conversation like old friends. She disclosed that she was not from the area and did not know her way around. She was unsure as to who to ask for help, but when she saw me, she felt that she could trust me and so she walked up to me.
Conversation flowed smoothly between us and when we got to my destination we sat and talked for awhile, as the business place I was going to was not yet opened. I discovered that she was also a Christian and was on a short visit to the island from overseas and was wary of asking for directions from any random person, given the stories she had heard about persons mysteriously disappearing after taxing taxis.
We discovered that we had some interests in common and exchanged numbers, as we decided to keep in touch. She actually wrote the description ‘nice lady‘ beside my name so that she could readily remember who I was when she saw my name in her phone contacts/
As it turned out, she wanted to make a purchase at another pharmacy in the complex, so I accompanied her there and then went to conduct my business.
The moral of the stories? It is important to be in the right place at the right time.
Ask God to position you in the right place at the right time so that you do not miss your blessing, or miss the chance to be a blessing to someone else.
Shalom!
